kappa Puzhukku (കപ്പ വേവിച്ചത് / കപ്പ പുഴുക്ക്)
Chopped Tapioca – 4 cup
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Green chilly – 3 nos
Curry leaves – 2 stem
Coconut oil – 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Dry red chilly – 3 nos
Garlic – 3 cloves
Salt to taste
How to prepare
Clean tapioca and cut into small cube like pieces. Take it in a thick- bottomed pot with enough water, salt and a pinch of turmeric powder. Then boil it for 10 mins. Drain off water from the cooked tapioca.
Grind the grated coconut, green chillies, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and curry leaves.
Add the grinded content to cooked tapioca and mash it well. Add salt if required and cook it in a low flame for a few mins.
In a pan, heat coconut oil and add some mustard seeds. When it splutters add dry red chillies and curry leaves. Pour it over the cooked tapioca.
Serve hot with fish curry or chicken curry.
